Hi 4 Band 1
As spoken to you this morning, this is the task for you. Please write descriptive paragraphs based on the following situations. Remember that you are required to infuse the descriptive words we have learnt so far. Also I would be looking at the sentence structures. Basically there must be a variety. Have fun.
1 A poor man is standing outside the gates of a big mansion.
2 A pretty woman is waiting at the traffic light for someone.
3 A pedophile is waiting to pounce on his innocent victims.
4 The biggest lose ( you know what I mean) is talking about his weight loss and the prize money.
5 The little match girl is shivering in cold and refusing to go home for fear of her step-father.
N.B. I hope that by thetime you post your comments you have removed any objectionable statements.

3: The 30-year-old pedophile was standing in the darkness of the alleyway, eyeing his next victim, a Primary 3 girl. He licked his lips as the temptation overwhelmed his senses. Ectasy flowed within his veins. He waited patiently for the moment to come as the girl slowly approached his direction. His legs were ready to pounce, like a lion hidden among the grass, waiting for the time to strike. Out of the shadow, he leapt onto the little girl and to his surprise, a police officer who was patrolling in the neighbouring blocks ran towards him. The pedophile froze in fear as his imminent doom approached him. The little girl screamed for help to the policeman, and he knew it was all over.

5) The Little Match Girl - A little match girl shivering in cold and refusing to go home for fear of her step-father.
ReplyDeleteThe little match girl shivered every time the cold, piercing wind brushed past her. She was but a small shadow in the vastness of the endless street. She shudded at the thought of returning to the dreadful presence of her stepfather, who brutally hit her when she returned home penniless. She watched, longingly, as the other children ran about in the snow, warm and carefree, while their parents watched on with so much tender in their eyes. The pain she felt was intolerable.

5: Dark clouds forecast an impending downpour. The cold biting wind pierces through her holey cardigan and penetrates into her bones. The tears in her eyes reflect dread and fear; fear that was imaginable. By now, her monstrous stepfather must be fuming at home in view of her late presence. She felt dazed and groggy. But she has to resist the temptation of having a rest. She is just too tired.

ReplyDelete2) Her pink satin dress billowed in the wind as she stood lazily, leaning against the traffic light. Her flawless skin glowed radiantly as she fluttered her perfectly mascared eyelashes that framed her almond-shaped ocean blue eyes. The sharp nose, high cheek bones and luscious reds lips that encased a set of pearly whites, this woman was too good to be true. As she ran her long slender fingers through her gorgeous wisps of her strawberry blonde hair, a fat pudgy boy of no more than five ran up to her and hugged her from behind, yelling "Mommy!" She swiftly turned around and planted a tight slap on his cubby cheeks for creasing her dress. This is why they say, never judge a book by its cover.

2. She stared vacantly in the distance, obviously unaware if the number of men staring at get champagne blond hair that glimmered like silk as the rays of light shone- as if they could bore a hole through her head. A gentle breeze blew and I caught a whiff of her sweet smelling and fragrant perfume. This slender woman was in the limelight, standing in the centre of this junction.
ReplyDeleteI was entranced.
