How can we make Queenstownians better users of English?

Activities to allow Queenstownians to practice the proper use of English. The school had already helped the students order the Present Perfect magazine, which provides articles with good usage of English. This will allow the to have a reference of what good usage of English is like and thus they will be able to learn from the magazine. During secondary three English lessons, the teachers gave them a project to do a news broadcast in class. By doing so they will also be able to practice better english verbally. Books are ordered for every secondary level, every year, students will then study the books. This gets them into contact with proper english once again. While studying the books students are also required to have a phrase book to pen down the words that they do not understand or find them useful. This broadens the vocabulary of the students enabling them to be better at writing essays as they know more descriptive words.
However all this are not enough, students still uses singlish as though it is an official language.
Teachers should start punishing students for the usage of singlish during Englsh lessons and that only "pure" English is allowed to be spoken in class.
Teachers can also give more projects to the students to present in class then they will more chance to practice good English verbally.
More difficult books or more typesof books can be ordered for the students, to get them to know more vocabulary and dsifferent writing styles.
